Teeple Barn - Illinois' only 16-Sided Barn

I was attracted to the Teeple Barn project from the first time I saw it at Randall Road and Interstate 90 in Elgin, Illinois. Built in 1885, the Teeple Barn is being restored to house a high-tech agricultural center on property donated by Matsushita Electric Corporation of America.

Not generally open to the public yet, I have had two opportunities to see the Barn up close. The first was during a county sponsored open house of several historic barns and the second was at the Second Annual BarnSavers Dinner for the Teeple Barn on November 13, 1999. The photographs below were taken during these visits.
